We love coming up with healthy, homemade versions of our favorite foods at our house! I kind of think of it as a challenge to see if we can make ours taste even better and usually I succeed! Now that Ben eats all the same things that we eat, making better food choices is more important than ever to us.
This is so easy to do and so much cheaper than buying Shake N Bake, plus it’s way healthier too! The most important thing to me is that we know what we’re eating and what we’re feeding Ben. I hate checking out the ingredients in a box, only to find that I can’t even pronounce some of the chemicals that are included!
So here is a healthier option for you! Enjoy!
- 2 pieces of toast
- whatever spices you like to taste (we use dill, parsley, and summer savory)
- optional: bran flakes if you want it to be extra crispy
- optional: parmesan cheese if that’s your thing!
Put your ingredients into a bullet mixer and give ‘er a whirl! You could use a regular blender, a food processor or whatever you have! Throw the mix into a baggie, pop in your piece of chicken, and give it a good shake to make sure the whole thing is coated. Bake your chicken as you normally would and enjoy!
