Nahhhhhh! I’ve realized over the years that I shouldn’t make resolutions. Why? Because they last about a week and are usually unattainable so why bother setting myself up for failure from the get go? Also, there’s not much point in me making resolutions for this year anyway. With the birth of my son coming up in the next month of so (eeeeek!!) my whole world is going to change. I have a feeling that I’ll be lucky to get my hair washed and wear a bra most days, so making some “home cooked meal every day!!” resolution is probably a little far fetched. Hell, making a home cooked meal everyday is far fetched for me even without a new baby!!
Instead, there are a few things I’d like to accomplish at some point over the next year. Let’s not think of them as resolutions, more of a To Do list. I blame Pinterest for most of these, damn you wonderful people for putting awesome ideas into my head!!
Better Organize Pinterest Boards!
I told you Pinterest had a lot to do with this! I currently have 16 boards and while some work well, most things get lost after I pin them, never to be seen again!
Grow some things!
Once the snow melts, I’d love to have a small garden. Apparently, the original owners of our house when it was first built grew all of their food and even had livestock here on the property (We’ve got just over an acre of land.) So I do know that the soil here has the potential to grow a few things!
Be More Organized!
And I don’t just mean my Pinterest boards! I need to be more organized in ALL areas of my life!
Being on maternity leave means a slight reduction in pay. I love saving money, and I’ve seen lots of products that I could be making myself that would really save us money! Things like baby wipes, laundry detergent, even decorative items for the house. The less I have to pay others to do, the better!
Pregnancy has kept me pretty darn healthy since I want to take really good care of this little life I’ve got living inside me, but I know I can do better! I have such a hard time with drinking enough water and getting enough exercise so those are big things to improve for me.
Are you a serial resolution breaker like me, or can you stick to your plans for the year?
