I still haven’t had this darn baby yet and haven’t had the energy to do much of anything so today I thought I’d share a quick little kitchen tip that I do myself to save a little bit of money, reduce waste and make things a little easier for myself.
Instead of throwing out the heels of a loaf of bread (because who the heck actually eats those?!) or the crust if I don’t feel like eating it, I tear them up and toss them in a bag in my freezer for later use in something like meatloaf or to make croutons. Sometimes Nick and I don’t get through a loaf of bread quick enough and before it starts to mold, I always make sure that instead of throwing it out, I tear it into pieces and add it to the bag. I hate wasting food!
