I’m Victoria from Busy House Big Heart ! A while ago Kim asked her readers if they would volunteer some guest posts while she is super pregnant and almost ready to pop! Actually by the time this is posted baby might be here!
I just recently gave birth to my own bundle of joy: Alexander, Jan 4th 2013. I am thankful everyday that even with my own complications, I was still able to create something amazing. You are welcome to read my birth story over at my blog, but I warn you, it’s pretty graphic!
While Kim was pregnant she wrote some great posts about what she liked and disliked about being pregnant. I thought since I have recently been pregnant I would share the things that I MISS and things I don’t MISS about being pregnant.
Things I Miss
The thing I miss the most about pregnancy is feeling the kicks, rolls, and stretches. There was such an amazing relaxing effect to the movements. I loved sitting and staring at my stomach move.
The baby bump, I’m a bigger gal and as most women do, I have some body issues. This pregnancy led me to love my body. Even with stretch marks and all, I’ve never felt more comfortable being naked.
It was so easy to talk to strangers. I am horrible with small talk, but being pregnant was a great conversation starter. I didn’t even mind being bell rubbed by strangers.
Things I Don’t Miss
Having people around me tell me what I could or could not do. Don’t lift that, don’t move that, etc. It was quite frustrating to have to ask people to help me move different things.
The constant peeing! I had to pee all of the time, and it was never satisfying to have a tiny tinkle. Best feeling in the world is completely emptying the bladder.
Not being able to have a drink, it’s not even that I wanted a drink, it was that I COULDN’T and that drove me bonkers! Of course I also had a hankering for some sushi.
Have you gone through pregnancy? If you have, what have you missed? What don’t you miss? Was it different for different pregnancies?
I hope Kim the best of luck in labour and look forward to seeing pictures of baby!!
