Winter babywearing in the frigid Canadian winter can be trickier than you’d think but it is so snuggly and I just love it! I’ve really enjoyed wearing both of my boys and I wish that they could stay little forever so I can just strap them to me and pepper their little heads with kisses!
I haven’t worn Ben in a long time since he’s constantly moving and would probably scream bloody murder if I put him on my back at this point. He’s not one to be in a single place for very long and being stuck to me would probably send him over the edge. Alex on the other hand, is happy to be snuggled in close with me so I’ll take it while I can get it! He’s a mama’s boy through and through and I love it!
If you were lucky (or unlucky if you hate being super pregnant in the snow) enough to be pregnant during the winter months, you may still have a winter maternity coat hanging around and that would be a good thing because it’s going to come in really handy right about now. And your husband said you didn’t need one because you’d never wear it again! If you’re pregnant right now and are contemplating whether or not to get a winter maternity coat, now you know that you’ll be able to use it later for winter babywearing too!
Winter Babywearing Tip Time!
- Strap or wrap baby onto your front!
- Put on maternity coat!
- Zip coat up over baby. Not over baby’s head though. That would be dangerous.
- Relish in the warm snuggliness and get outside for a lovely winter stroll!
That’s it. I mean, you probably figured out what the tip was just looking at the adorable photo of Alex and I above but I like to make things painfully clear just in case. In the photo I had Alex in my Moby Wrap which I love! I have also done this with him in my Tula which is great too.
How do you make babywearing work for you in the winter?
