As you probably guessed, this guy and his big brother have been keeping me very busy lately! He’s growing like a weed and is starting to get a sweet little personality now which is an absolute joy to watch. The poor boy had his 2 month check up this afternoon so he had some needles and weighs in at a whopping 10.5 lbs! He took the needles like a champ but has been a little cranky as we get into the evening hours. I can’t say that I blame him!
He’s just as shocked as I am that time is passing so quickly! I also wanted to mention that his hair is like this all the time, even if I try to flatten his little alfalfa sprout! I think it’s so cute and it always makes me laugh!
We’ve already had to put away his newborn and 0-3 month clothing and he’s into his 3-6 month clothes now which is so sad! I don’t think that we’ll have another baby so I had tears in my eyes as I was putting it all away. But such is life and there are many wonderful years to come that I should focus on rather than dwelling on keeping him tiny.
I found these little Mickey Mouse slippers in a box not long ago. They were actually given to my mother as a gift when she was pregnant for me and I wore them! We never managed to get them on Ben so I’m very glad that Alex has been wearing them. They are almost 30 years old! Wow, does that ever make me feel old!
In some very exciting news, I am so excited because this week Nick started paternity leave so he is home with us for the next 8 MONTHS!! Isn’t that amazing?! He had only planned on taking the summer off work but his boss pulled him aside and told him that he was entitled to the full paternity leave and wanted to make sure that he took this opportunity if he wanted it. It has been so great having him home and being able to give both boys the attention that they need. We are so lucky to have this time together as a family and I am looking forward to the months ahead and the memories that we will make!
