There’s been a lot of talk about organization around here lately. Maybe it’s because I’m in hardcore nesting mode since Baby #2 is due to arrive NEXT MONTH! Yeah, let’s go with that.
As part of the 52 Weeks To An Organized Home Challenge, we were instructed to create a home management binder. This is something I had been meaning to do for a long time anyway so I was delighted to see it on the list. I’ve had ideas in my head and have been pinning things for months about it so it just took this little nudge to get me moving on it.
One of the most important things that I wanted to include in my binder was a cleaning schedule. I generally have one circulating in my brain that I roughly follow anyway, but I knew that in would be really useful for our house in the coming weeks. I remember when Ben was born, my mom and my mother-in-law were so amazing and helpful in keeping our house from falling apart while we focused on our new baby … and I focused on not dying! They would always come in and ask what housework needed to be done and when we were too tired to think straight and didn’t know what the hell to tell them, they’d wonderfully take it upon them selves to throw in some laundry, do some dishes and make sure things were generally tidy. After the fact, I wished I had been more prepared!
So the other day I took the list that was in my head and I made it into a printable list! There are things that I try to do daily, weekly, monthly, and a spot for me to write anything else that comes up when I think of it. This way, I can keep this list out on the counter and whenever someone asks what they can do to help, it’s right there! Because I’m such a office supply nerd and have my own laminator, I laminated the hell out of that sucker and added it to my home managment binder.
I thought this might be useful to some of you so I decided to make it into a free printable to share with you! Keep in mind this is my personal list. If there is interest, I can make an editable version for you.
