Kids books are over running my house but I can always handle a few more! Literacy is a huge priority for me and I take every chance I get to read to my boys in the hopes that they’ll love it as much as I do. Even though we have what seems like an entire bookstore here in our house, I am still able to choose 5 standout kids books as my favorites and I shared them in a collaboration video that I’d love you to see!
Just in case you’re interested, here is the list of my favorite kids books that I talked about in the video. Most were given to us as gifts and, truth be told, books are one of my favorite gifts to receive. Especially when they are for kids! This video was done in collaboration with a wonderful bunch of mamas from the YouTube Mommy Meetup Facebook group so make sure to check out the playlist to see what other moms are reading to their little ones. You won’t be disappointed by their choices!
5 Favorite Kids Books
There’s nothing quite like cuddling up with your sweet baby and reading books together. I love how curious they are and how they want to touch every page and talk about everything they see in the pictures. I even love it when I’m so tired and try to skip a page but they catch me red handed. I know I’m not the only mom out there who does that! It seems like it’s just for fun and is a great way to bond, but at the end of the day, reading with your child early on sets them up for a lifetime of loving books and it promotes literacy which is so important. It starts at home, we can’t leave it up to the school system to promote that desire for literature and knowledge in our children. Reading can transport you anywhere and can show you things you’d never have the chance to see outside of a book!
