I really love to read so choosing a favorite book for #Blogtober14 is like me trying to choose a favorite pair of shoes, it’s really hard! As I get older and my tastes change, my favorite books have changed as well. When I was a kid, I would have told you that my favorite book was Pippi Longstocking or Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Through my teenage years I really liked Wuthering Heights and The Outsiders. The entire Harry Potter series is a favorite of mine, along with the Left Behind series. I like to read all genres of books so something more business oriented like Rich Dad, Poor Dad was a good read for me and so was The Happiness Project. I like biographies and loved Diana: Her True Story and I’m not above reading romance novels so anything from Nora Roberts (both as herself and as JD Robb). So yeah, I like books.
I have a much easier time deciding which books that I don’t like. Anna Karenina anyone? Before I am blasted for not liking this literary fixture, I’ll just elaborate and say that it wasn’t the plot or the story that I didn’t particularly enjoy, it was the tangents that Tolstoy goes off on which are way off topic and I didn’t find added anything to the plot. The overall storyline and themes were very entertaining, I just had a really hard time getting through it which is why it isn’t on my favorites list.
Moving on, shall we? Who likes to win money? Is that even a question? I’ve teamed up with a few lovely bloggers (who you should really check out) to give away a $50 Amazon gift card to be spent on anything you’d like! How generous are we?!
