I am such a sucker for adorable chalkboard art! I love seeing it on a sign outside of a cute cafe or the menu of a funky diner. It’s one of those art forms that looks easy enough to do yourself but to get the design and lettering just right takes some skill and practice.
I found myself a cheap chalkboard for $19.99 at Winners (or TJ Maxx in the US) which I absolutely adore. I bought it even though I had no idea what I would do with it but I knew I had to have it. In recent months I have been very interested in practicing and learning about lettering because I’m naturally a pretty artistic person. It falls right in nicely with my love of my planner and all things stationary related. I find myself watching lettering videos on YouTube for hours on end!
So far I’ve been changing my chalkboard art monthly and I love having something new and fresh to look at each month. My chalkboard hangs above the bench by our front door so it’s a nice little greeting as we enter or leave the house. It’s hard to pick a favorite but I think Sweet Summer Time takes the cake for me.
I am now on the hunt for the perfect liquid chalk markers if anyone has a suggestion! I have been using ones that sort of have the consistency of crayons which I am not in love with. I’d like something nice and pigmented in some pretty colours. So if you know of a good brand, leave me a comment and let me know!
